There's a variety of Italian wine that I've lately become obsessed with -- just because it's so difficult to find in the United States. It's called Sforzato (or, in the local dialect, Sfursat). It's like Amarone, in a sense, because they make it with "raisin-fied" grapes. Big, bold, powerful. Anyway, it's from Lombardia, the Valtellina region specifically. Made from Nebbiolo grapes, just like Barolo, Barbaresco, and Dolcetto.
If you see some, buy it. And let me know where you got it. Cheers.
